Malibu's Burgers made its debut along Lake Merritt early in 2020 with a black school bus and as of late 2020 have their first brick-and-mortar restaurant at 3905 Piedmont Avenue in Oakland. A craving for more vegan fast food in the Bay Area drove Darren Preston, AKA Danny Malibu, to quit his job at the Port of Oakland to kickstart a food truck that offers big, plant-based burger, chicken, cheesesteak options and more. The menu includes some major creations using Impossible burger patties, plant-based cheeses, shakes, Hella Hella fries and so much more.
